So seeing that this just might be where I will live in the next 5 or so years, I had to do some research on what makes Rwanda, what is Rwanda, and what is the country like..and I have to tell you, I am amazed at this country for all that its done since the genocide has long passed. A new Rwanda is emerging and fast. New developments spring up everyday; there are plans to revitalize and fully develop and urbanize its main and capital city Kigali. They have also taken steps to reduce the carbon footprint of the country by banning the use of those God awful plastic bag(supermarket garbage as I call them). While most parts of the world has been suffering for the sake of the global financial crisis, Rwanda seemed to have saw it coming and took the a turnoff somewhere along the road so to speak. I've attached videos and other visuals that you can all see what I found during my research..Great progress and I can't wait to officially visit this country; after all I just might (with the blessings of the Lord it will happen) be living there. Partake :-)
Today, this burgeoning African city of just under 1 million thrives with the hustle and bustle of Rwandans who are not only rebuilding their city but their country. Construction cranes dot the skyline. Downtown and in the suburbs apartments, hotels and plazas are being built. In the new chic suburb of Nyarutarama, sprawling single-family homes are springing up.
